Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo believes Hugo Broos should start Relebohile Mofokeng against Lesotho after his brace against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mofokeng, 20, secured Pirates an important 2-1 win in the title race after scoring a brace inside five minutes against Masandawana on Sunday.
However, before the match Mofokeng had somewhat gone through a slump in form, with even Hugo Broos defending his selection.
Khumalo believes Broos should even go further and hand him his first Bafana start against Lesotho on Friday.
“For Bafana Bafana, let’s play him where he is strong because at Pirates it was just a mind game, a tactical change because they expected him to be a winger but Pirates plays him in the middle,” he said on the DNA Podcast.
“So this boy is operational if only he is on the wing play. Yes, I understand Appollis is giving us the wing play that we want but that this boy is as hot as a potato. When are we going to see him start?
“Yes there are other players in that position but in the moment the guy is hot. He scored two goals against Sundowns in packed FNB stadium, the least expected of him.
“And here is Lesotho and not undermining them but out of the three players [Morena, Appollis and Mokoena] I’d pull him up.”
