SAFA have announced that Bafana Bafana will host Congo Brazzaville for their 2025 AFCON Qualifiers tie at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Friday, 11 October.
Hugo Broos’s charges needed a last-gasp winner from Thalente Mbatha to see off minnows South Sudan 3-2 in the last qualifying clash, which currently sees them join the Ugandan Cranes on four points at the top of Group K.
The return leg away is set to take place on Tuesday, 15 October, and it remains to be seen who Coach Hugo Broos will include in his final 23-man squad after naming a 33-member preliminary team.
SAFA through President Dr Danny Jordaan has urged fans to come out in numbers to support the national team.
“Let us fill up the stadium and give the team the support they want,” Jordaan said.
Raaziq Poole, Stadium Project Manager had this to say: “We are excited to host Bafana Bafana at our stadium. We will have a perfect pitch that is prepared for our style of play and the GWIJO stand will have a great atmosphere. We encourage fans to buy tickets at our stadium and other TicketPro outlets in Gqeberha and show Bafana Bafana that the Nelson Mandela Stadium is their home.”

The two top finishers from this group will qualify for the continental showpiece in Morocco next year from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Bafana’s clash with Congo will kick off at 7pm.
