Agent Addresses Moremi To Pirates Speculation

Bafana Bafana and AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi is in high demand but still contracted to AmaZulu, which needs to be respected, according to his agent Mike Makaab.

Moremi, 24, looks poised to make his senior international debut for the national team, with the in-form Usuthu talent part of Hugo Broos’ 23-man squad who are scheduled to face Tanzania tomorrow and Mozambique next week.

His form this season has naturally attracted interest, in recent media reports in the country state that Orlando Pirates are among the admirers.

But Makaab stated the situation remains calm, with the ball in Usuthu’s court over his future – as they respect the platform given for Moremi to flourish in the South African top-flight.

“Still contracted to AmaZulu but is still going into his final year of his contract, so we’re busy talking and we’re also speaking to the club about the possibility of a move for him,” Makaab confirmed to iDiski Times.

“So, we’re looking for all options for Tshepang at the moment. I have also read [about Pirates interest] – there is interest in Moremi from a number of football clubs. But what is important is for us to respect he is contracted to AmaZulu and that any moves that are made is done with the blessing of AmaZulu.

“This needs to be done is a professional way, he has a year left on his contract, we can renegotiate it or we can look at possibilities of a transfer to another club, and at the moment, we’re looking at both.

“[He’s] a total professional. Off the field? A wonderful character, just a really humble person.”

Moremi has scored four goals with seven assists in 31 games for Usuthu across all competitions this season.
