Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker says their latest signing Godswill Kazie Enyinnaya reminds him of Premier Soccer League legend Onismor Bhasera.
Stellenbosch finally announced the signing of the 25-year-old Nigeria right back this weekend after securing his paperwork to register him for the club.
It had been a long time coming after signing him in the off-season as a replacement for club captain Deano van Rooyen who moved on to Orlando Pirates.
The attacking right-back who featured for the Super Eagles in the African Nations Championship has plenty of experience in CAF inter-club competitions with 36 games in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
“I was tempted to start him [against Pirates], he has been training with us, obviously it took long to get his visa, work-permit but now he’s available,” he said.
“Kazie, don’t ask me to pronounce his surname… Enyinnaya. But yeah, he’s a similar type of attacking full-back as Deano was [for us], he likes to get forward.

“He’s nuggety, strong in the tackle but he will give us definite forward momentum and at training when I looked at him, I thought we signed a young Bhasera there.
“He looks just like Bhasera, plays like him and strong like a bull – but yeah he’s gonna add a lot of value, he almost got onto the pitch but I’m sure he will get his opportunity soon.”
Enyinnaya scored seven goals with nine assists in 161 games for his previous club Rivers United across all competitions.
