Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s DStv Premiership encounter at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
There is a lot of excitement and hope ahead of the 2023/24, as new signings and a new technical sponsor have raised the spirits of the club and the fans.
Sunday’s league opener against Chippa will be Molefi Ntseki’s first game as head coach, while Morgan Mammila returns to the dugout for the Chilli Boys.
Chippa had an interesting transfer window, having roped in a mix of experience and youngsters for head coach Mammila.
Last season, when they visited Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium they stunned the hosts and went home with maximum points.
The hosts confirmed that new Chiefs signing Pule Mmodi will miss the clash after the passing of his mother, while Keagan Dolly is still out injured.
Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen was Ntseki’s first-choice in goal, with Bruce Bvuma on the bench and Itumeleng Khune not in the squad.
Here is how they line up:
Kaizer Chiefs XI: Petersen, Hlanti, Ditlhokwe, Msimango, Frosler, Maart, Castillo, Shabalala, Nk. Ngcobo, Saile, Chivaviro
