With Itumeleng Khune not in the match day squad and Keagan Dolly still sidelined with injury, Molefi Ntseki has named Brandon Petersen as Kaizer Chiefs captain.
Amakhosi take on Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with Ntseki making his debut as head coach.
He opted to include four new signings in his starting XI, but there was no Khune in the squad.
Earlier in the week, Ntseki had told iDiski Times that Khune and Dolly are his first-choice captain but with both not featuring against Chippa, he had to select another player to wear the armband.
That duty has gone to Petersen, who starts in goal for the Glamour Boys. Petersen joined Chiefs in 2021 and has since made 32 appearances for the club.
