Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove says they won’t take any nonsense from Stellenbosch star forward Iqraam Rayners.
The South Africa international will arrive at FNB Stadium tomorrow in high spirits after scoring a goal, with an assist against Royal AM, following on from his strike against Algeria for Bafana Bafana in their 3-3 draw.
He’s been one of the highest scorers in African football since his return to Steve Barker’s outfit but comes up against an Amakhosi defence that has kept eight clean sheets in their last 10 games in all competitions.
“He’s a good player overall, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is ourselves, I think we’ve been doing very well defensively and obviously it’s just a matter of confidence and whoever comes, comes against us,” Edmilson said.
“Including all my defensive colleagues, we’re ready for what’s coming and he needs to be ready also for us, because we’re confident and not going to take any nonsense.
“He’s mobile, he has a sniff for goals, but probably, he’ll have to relax for tomorrow’s games because we also mean business.”
The two sides meet at the Calabash on Tuesday evening with the battle for the CAF Champions League qualification spot heating up.
