SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has bemoaned the countless chances they squandered in their 1-1 draw with Sekhukhune United.
Hunt’s men missed a lot of chances especially in the first half but scored late in the game to rescue a point and avoid a fifth straight defeat in the league.
Hunt was however pleased with the performance of his charges but bemoaned the lack of killer instinct in the final third saying finishing has been their biggest challenge this season.
“I thought we played very well,” said Hunt in his post-match interview.
“I thought we were the better team let’s be honest. I thought the first half we could have been 3, 4-0 with the chances we missed. And then they went 1-0 up through never a foul but that’s what happens and then we chase, chase, chase.
“I think performance was fantastic obviously we are not happy with the result because we should have won this game. We played well but we’ve played like this the whole season. So, you can see why we are not scoring goals we miss the chances even when we get a penalty it’s crazy.”

Meanwhile, the meeting between the sides was a second one in less than a month with Babina Noko claiming a victory with Hunt adding that he felt Sunday’s fixture was just like the first game where his side wasted chances.
“The first game we played them we could have been 3-0 at halftime and then we lost 3-0,” added the former Kaizer Chiefs coach.
“So, I thought here we go again it felt like a similar game, the first time we played them to be fair watch the game. We watched it again this morning we should have been 3-0 at halftime and we lost 3-0 because we don’t score but we keep creating chances.
“The opportunities come that’s all you can do. but you can see there’s a lot of new players, so we are still trying to gel still, at this time of the year we are still trying to gel players in.”
