SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt was disappointed that his side could not protect their lead and get one over Sekhukhune United in the DStv Premiership in Polokwane on Sunday evening.
United took the lead through Terrence Dzvukamanja but Elias Mokwana cancelled that before Chibuike Ohizu scored the winner later in the match.
Matsatsantsa, however, remain in second position on the DStv Premiership log with 23 points, a point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns but Hunt’s side has played 12 matches in comparison to Downs’ eight.
United are also a point ahead of third-placed Cape Town City, who have the same number of games.
Hunt felt that his charges could have done better, adding that the bigger disappointment was that they could have opened a gap between themselves and the sides behind them had they won their two matches in Limpopo.
“Yeah disappointed we should have gone 2-0 up there, I mean Bradley missed on the goal line,” said Hunt.
“Should have been 2-0, 3-0 then the game would have been over and we could have managed it but we couldn’t, we had to chase.
“Then they get the first, the second was a big deflection, wasn’t it? And the ball ended up [in goal], how it ended up I still haven’t seen it.
“So yeah disappointing and then we chased it, we tried to chase it and then the game opens up and then they get a few breakaways.
“But yeah, we kept going and it’s disappointing because we could have opened up a gap and we should have won both these games, we could have won both games in Polokwane but it is what it is.
“You know we play three away, well we just play anywhere.”
