MaMkhize Wanted To Challenge Potsane’s Departure But…

Royal AM boss Shauwn Mkhize said she was tempted to challenge the departure of Tebogo Potsane but decided to let it go.

Potsane, who was reported to have an option to renew with Royal AM, decided to leave the club and join Kaizer Chiefs in what was a surprise move for many last month.

But, instead of fighting the matter to the legal department of the league, Mkhize, having discussed it with her management and her legal department, decided to let it go, insisting there was no need to fight a player who doesn’t want to be with the club.

“I was away when this thing happened and I asked the lawyer and general manager to let it go,” said MaMkhize.

“I believe that the players must always have a heart and if the heart of the player is no longer within our club, it’s okay to let them go because why keep someone whose heart is no longer here?

“I love Potsane. I called him Pikinini [small] because he was one of the best players. He was one of the players that I treated as Andile [like my son].

“If his heart is no longer with my club, it is okay to let him go.”

Just like his mother, Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane said there was no need to talk about the past now and he wished Potsane well at the Naturena-based club.

“Potsane was a good player for us,” said Mpisane.

“I wish him well where is going. I don’t have a problem where he is going because he’s happy that he is going to play for Kaizer Chiefs.

“There are other players here – there is Mfundo Thikazi, other players and Royal AM is still going to carry on.”
