Mudau On Potential Europe Move

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana wing-back Khuliso Mudau has discussed his ambitions about a potential move to Europe after he was recently linked with Premier League side Burnley.

Mudau, 28, is the reigning PSL Defender of the Season and arguably one of the most consistent players in the DStv Premiership at present.

He’s won three league titles, the MTN8, Nedbank Cup and African Football League since his arrival at the club from Black Leopards and there’s been talk of a move to Europe in recent weeks.

Towards the end of 2023, he has been linked with Premier League side Burnley, the current club of his Bafana Bafana, Lyle Foster, and Mudau has now admitted he would be keen to feature in Europe, even though he’s currently happy where he is.

“Europe offers a broader audience and opportunities to grow at the highest level,” the Puma-sponsored athlete said during a Q&A.

“Ambitious players don’t worry about the cons, we are self-driven.

“But the PSL and African club competitions have shown a significant steady growth in the past 2 years, so I’m enjoying the tough competition.”

Mudau has also made Hugo Broos’ 23-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, where he is part of a 10-man Sundowns block.

“All I want is to see myself on the same playing field with the best players the continent has to offer,” he added.

“I’ve admired them for the longest time and now I get to test myself against them.

“[I want to play against] Mohammed Salah. He’s been the best.”

When it comes to Puma, Mudau has one favourite boot: “PUMA Ultra all the way. The boots are very light, and the traction is great.”
