Durban City’s veteran midfield anchor, Thabo Nodada, has weighed in on a tough test awaiting his side as they prepare to face a title-hungry Orlando Pirates this coming weekend.
Buoyed by their recent success in clinching the Nedbank Cup, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit is set to journey to a capacity crowd at the Orlando Amstel Arena for a 15:00 kickoff on Saturday.
The stakes could not be higher for the hosts; a victory for the Sea Robbers would mathematically secure the Betway Premiership title, as they require just one more win from their final two fixtures to be crowned champions of the league.
Despite the intimidating atmosphere, Nodada remains resolute, asserting that his team is prepared to give their absolute all when they go toe-to-toe with Abdeslam Ouaddou’s charges.
“We’re not going to enjoy that game, we’re not. I mean, I saw a record,” said Nodada.
“I think they said the stadium is sold out on a Tuesday.
“Look, to be even in the position we are in, you know, why us? You know, why do you come from a Nedbank Cup final and then you have a chance to decide something that’s so far out of your reach, you know?
“Look, it’s a game of football. It’s 90 minutes. We go there, we do our best. If our best is better than their best, then good luck to them.”
