Orlando Pirates are understood to be monitoring RS Berkane defender Issoufou Dayo.
The 31-year-old has been instrumental for the Moroccan giants, having led the club to two CAF Confederations Cup trophies in three years.
He recently also claimed the CAF Super Cup with Berkane when they beat their arch rivals and CAF Champions League winners, Wydad Athletic Club on penalties.
He made 15 appearances this season across all competitions so far, scoring twice, and was part of the Berkane team that beat the Buccaneers in last season’s CAF Confed Cup final.
iDiski Times has learnt that Pirates are monitoring the situation of the the Berkane captain, whose contract is set to expire in June 2023.
Dayo also has 62 caps for the Burkina Faso national team, scoring six goals. He also captained his country at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished in fourth place.
The Sea Robbers’ are also looking to get a striker and a goalkeeper from outside the country in January, if they are failing to find them in South Africa.
Pirates have been also linked with Cameroonian striker Marou Souaibou who recently returned to training with his team Coton Sport.
