Orlando Pirates midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja has delivered a confident assessment of his side’s title prospects with five matches left in the season.
Pirates lead the standings on 58 points after 25 matches, narrowly ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who are two points behind but have two matches in hand.
Recent draws against Siwelele at home and Richards Bay away have seen Pirates drop valuable points, opening the door for Sundowns, who could move four points clear if they win their two games in hand.
Despite this, Rasebotja remains optimistic, insisting Pirates are focused on their own performances rather than their rivals, believing results elsewhere will fall into place.
“Obviously, the conversation right now is just to focus on ourselves,” said Rasebotja.
“Just focus on ourselves and try to be consistent and I think we stand a good chance of finishing on top.
“But obviously you have to take everything one game at a time and not to be too ahead of ourselves.
“Just take one game at a time and the result and the outcome will take off itself.”
