TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic says his former captain Given Msimango will fight to get his place back in the Kaizer Chiefs line-up.
Msimango, who joined Chiefs at the beginning of this season, was benched for the second successive match in Amakhosi’s 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership last week after already starting off the bench against Sekhukhune United.
Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki later explained that the drop was because they want to avoid fatigue and potential injuries, but it came at a questionable time before the international break.
The encounter against Babina Noko was the first time the 26-year-old wasn’t involved in a match since December 2021, but Ramovic is convinced his former skipper will work his way back into the team
“In life and just in soccer it’s not always that the sun shines,” he said Carling Knockout Cup launch when asked about Msimango.
“Sometimes the rain comes but like I know Given, he is a hard working guy, professional [and] disciplined, I will absolutely not be surprised that he will bounce back again and become stronger than he was.
“He is a fantastic player and yes Chiefs has a lot of great players, it’s not easy so you have to fight for your place and I think he has the character to bounce back absolutely.”
