Billiat – What The Coaches Told Us Ahead Of CAFCL Final
Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has opened up about what the club’s coaches have told the Amakhosi stars ahead of Saturday’s CAF Champions League final.
The 30-year-old, who has been doing recovery work following a fractured leg, could reportedly win the fitness battle and be available for Saturday’s final against Al Ahly.
Billiat now gave some insight into what coaches Stuart Baxter and Arthur Zwane – there has been no update on Baxter’s work permit as yet – have told players ahead of the biggest game in the club’s history.
“The coach is showing us the training and we believe the plan is going to be giving us the greatest result,” he told the club’s media department.
“We need to not forget what the coaches always say, that it’s not gonna be easy. It’s a good side we’re facing in the far right now.
“We can only we can only give it away if we don’t apply certain things that can make a difference in the game, which is being in the right space. Managing the space as well and make sure we stick to the to the game plan.”
Billiat, who could lift his second CAFCL title after winning it with Mamelodi Sundowns already, also thanked the faithful of the Glamour Boys for the support they have been given the team despite not being able to visit the stadiums.
“Yeah, I just want to say to the supporters, you have been nothing but the best to us throughout difficult times, and we love you. And we we appreciate the belief that we have with the team,” he added.
“I think we just 90 minutes away from the glory that you deserve. And we thank you for all the support that you have been giving us and all the support that you’ve been showing us on all the platforms.
“We miss you, we miss you in the stadium and we can’t wait till the day we’re going to have you back in the stadium, giving us that extra motivation that you always give us any play.”
Chiefs’ communications manager Vina Maphosa said that the Glamour Boys would travel with a full complement of their squad and will give an update on who is available one day ahead of the final.
