Four days after the CAF Champions League final Kaizer Chiefs are finally back on South African soil.
The club’s social media account confirmed they had landed back in South Africa on Wednesday morning.
Ten man Chiefs had lost 3-0 to Al Ahly in Saturday’s final, and were originally scheduled to return to South Africa via a chartered flight on Monday.
Though technical difficulties saw that flight being cancelled.
Instead they flew out on a commercial flight on Tuesday evening, landing safely back in Mzansi today.
Despite finishing as runners-up in the CAFCL, Chiefs will not be part of next season’s competition, after finishing eighth in the DStv Premiership.
However after making history this season, the Amakhosi will be hungry to qualify again as soon as possible, so there’s a lot of work ahead for Stuart Baxter and his team.
