Chiefs Enter Bio-Bubble Ahead Of CAFCL Final
Kaizer Chiefs have taken the bold step of going into bio-bubble ahead of the CAF Champions League final.
The Glamour Boys returned to training on Sunday after going into a short break following their semi-final second leg against Wydad Casablanca.
With Covid-19 numbers soaring in the country, especially in Gauteng, Chiefs have already been directly affected by coronavirus, before the semi-final second leg, with Bruce Bvuma missing out.
Chiefs will also look at how Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana have been battling with Covid-19 cases.
In addition to Bvuma, Chiefs missed Khama Billiat, Dumisani Zuma, Leonardo Castro, Lebohang Manyama, Anthony Akumu and Lazarous Kambole due to injuries but most of the players are expected to be available for the final.
Amakhosi also have to organise friendly matches to keep fit ahead of the final on 17 July and they would have to play against teams which are testing for Covid-19 to not take any risk.
Al Ahly, by the time they meet Chiefs in the final, will have played four matches since their semi-final second leg as they are playing catch up in the domestic league where they still have six games in hand over rivals with six games in hand.
The last time the two sides met, the Red Devils hammered Amakhosi 4-1 in the CAF Super Cup in 2001 in Cairo.
