Folz Returns To Management With CAFCL Side

Former AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz has landed a new job with Horoya AC.

Folz parted ways with Usuthu at the end of last season after initially being redeployed as Technical Director with the Durban-based outfit.

His spell was largely ill-fated as he suffered similar issues that led to the exits of Benni McCarthy and Brandon Truter, and similar to what his successor Pablo Franco Martin now faces – lack of goals leading to lack of wins.

But iDiski Times can confirm he’s quickly been snapped up to return to the dugout with Guinea giants Horoya, where he will be competing in the CAF Champions League this season.

According to sources close to the club, he’s penned a two-year deal and has already started training the first team as he replaces Lappé Bangoura – for the side who will face Medeama or Remo Stars in the next round of the Champions League qualifiers.

In what represents an exciting move for the 33-year-old, he will be aiming to put behind his spell in South Africa and rebuild his career that earned him a sterling reputation on the continent when he starred in Ghana with Bechem United and Ashanti Gold.
