Durban City assistant coach Ashraf Hendricks has opened up about the potential CAF Confederation Cup opportunity that comes with winning the Nedbank Cup.
The KwaZulu-Natal side will face TS Galaxy in the final on Saturday, 2 May, as they chase their first top-flight trophy.

Last season, Kaizer Chiefs lifted the Nedbank Cup and qualified for the Confederation Cup, but were unable to progress beyond the group stage.
Hendricks admitted continental qualification was not part of their initial targets this season, but welcomed the prospect.
He said it’s a platform the team would embrace to gain experience, much like established sides such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch.
“I think that’s one of the things. Obviously, yet again, as a club, it wasn’t prepared for. And it’s something that now all of a sudden pops up on our objective list,” said Hendricks.
“And it’s something that we want to have. Because at the end of the day, we want to be part of Africa. We’ve seen Sundowns, we’ve seen Stellenbosch.
“We want to be a part of that. And we want to have a scenario not just to be a part of it, but to experience and to learn and to get the badge out there, get the club out there.”
