Stellenbosch FC defender Thabo Moloisane spoke about the huge turnaround in his football career after he was relegated with Maritzburg United six months ago to reaching a final now.
Moloisane had a promising career since his days at Mamelodi Sundowns where he represented the club at junior level.
The 24-year-old was with the Team of Choice last season and made 27 appearances in all competitions. He was part of the squad that got relegated. Stellies snatched him immediately as the replacement of Olwethu Makhanya who went to join Major League Soccer side Philadelphia.
Since joining the Cape Winelands side, he has never looked back. He has made 17 appearances including six cup games, MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup. His Centre-back pairing along Ismail Toure and Athenkosi Mcaba has led Stellies to third place in the standings of DStv Premiership.
Moloisane is thankful to the all might god for the turnaround as he will be involved in his first ever final. The South Africa under 20 is expected to start on Saturday after playing the tournament from last 16 till semis.
“A lot can change in football in a space of months. I’m always grateful for the opportunity given to me.” Maloisane told the media.
“I do pinch me a lot after the semi-final going back to the hotel, I was in tears by myself, thinking how everything has changed from the past six months and where I am now.
“I’m grateful to God honestly.”
