Nabi’s Honest Opinion On Poor Chiefs Results

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says he needs to adjust himself and his feelings after the recent indifferent results.

Chiefs suffered defeats to Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and dropped two points against Magesi in their last three league games.

But in between had an emphatic 4-0 win over Matsatsansa in Polokwane in the competition, which now, ironically sets them up for another clash against Masandawana.

Ahead of the Sundowns match, Nabi was asked how he’s handled the recent form in the league, having stated he’s a winner, that doesn’t handle losing well.

“It’s true… but it’s a balance you need, you need to adjust yourself because the team we have… the project that’s there, but from my first press conference, I said I am here first to build a very good team, strong team,” he said.

“Then to be a contender for the [league] championship or any cup… I repeat again, that I am very realistic and honest about the mission that I am doing here.

“If I tell you today that the team I have can be a contender for the championship, I would be lying and not an honest man, we first need to build a strong team and then we can compete for trophies.

“It doesn’t mean we won’t give everything we have to win games and if there’s a cup to win, try to win it, we have a spirit of winners, I want the players to have it too, but again I repeat we need to be honest and realistic for everyone, so there’s no misunderstandings.”

The two sides do battle on Saturday at FNB Stadium at 18h00.
