Kaizer Chiefs picked up another vital win to maintain advantage over second-placed Stellenbosch FC who also recorded a win in Saturday’s DStv Diski Challenge encounters.
Aden McCarthy opened the scoring for Amakhosi with a penalty in the 37th minute before in-form attacker Naledi Hlongwane made it 2-0 in the 58th minute to seal the victory for the log leaders who moved to 48 points after 20 games, with a game in hand.

A late second-half goal from Tauric Gamaldien was enough for Stellenbosch to seal the three points against Magesi FC. The Cape Winelands side remained in second place with 47 points after 21 games.
It was a six-goal thriller at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium between Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United. Arrows led 2-0 after 15 minutes but were then reduced to 10 men just five minutes before halftime. Babina Noko took advantage of that as they scored two quick goals in the second half to make it 2-2. Abafana Bes’thende made it 3-2 in the 72nd minute, and two minutes later, Sekhukhune equalized to make 3-3.

Arrows saw their winless run extend to seven matches while Sekhukhune’s winless run went to four matches, and this was their second successive three-all draw.
