Khanye – Which Coach Chiefs Must Sign

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye believes Amakhosi should go all out to sign former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane, 59, is currently a free agent after leaving Abha Club following their relegation from the Saudi Pro League.

The South African tactician had revived the Saudi side and lifted them out of the relegation zone with one game left to play, but they collapsed on the final day against already-relegated Al Hazem to drop down.

Mosimane has been strongly linked with a move to Naturena, even though there hasn’t been any official approach. But Khanye believes he would be the perfect fit to lead the Glamour Boys back to old glory.

“It’s simple, my choice would be Pitso Mosimane,” he told this website.

“He must be allowed to bring his own technical team and say who [currently at Chiefs] he wants to work with.

“Pitso is a free agent now, and he’s one of the best coaches. He’s the one who can fix everything at Kaizer Chiefs – I’m talking about being in charge of every department, he’s more of a [Premier League-type] manager than just a coach.”

Khanye also believes Mosimane should be allowed to bring his team of trusted ‘navy seals’, but admitted he should also look at Dan Maleseal and Farouk Khan as part of his technical team.

“Chiefs got money, he’s the only coach who can fix Chiefs now,” he added.

“I’d love to see Pitso Mosimane assisted by Dan Malesela, and he must bring his technical team as well.

“Then make Farouk Khan the Head of the Academy.”

It remains to be seen whether Chiefs will really make an approach to Mosimane, with AS FAR coach Nasreddine Nabi currently seen as favourite after Kaizer Motaung Sr himself spoke to the Tunisian tactician – as reported in this week’s iDiski Times newspaper.

Don’t forget, Khanye’s reality tv show – Junior Khanye: Fixing the Game – will air from 11 July on Mzansi Wethu.
