Mabasa Opens Up About Goal Celebration After Hat-Trick Show

Orlando Pirates’ hat-trick hero Tshegofatso Mabasa has opened up about his goal celebration in Pirates’ 7-1 win over Golden Arrows on Saturday.

Pirates returned to winning ways in rampant fashion on Saturday, and Mabasa’s three goals took him to the top of the goalscoring with ten goals, alongside Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lucas Ribeiro.

After the game, Mabasa told SuperSport about his goal celebration, and how it was to let the fans know he’s back home.

“It’s just for people to know that I’m back home,” Mabasa told SuperSport.

“And I’m here to score goals and that is exactly what I want to do.”

It was Mabasa’s first hat-trick in his career and he was very proud to receive the match ball.

“The match ball, that means three goals,” he continued.

“I’m happy and just very happy for the goals, happy for the team performance and definitely we need to improve and get the results and we’ve been doing that so I’m just happy for that and grateful for that.”
