Mokwena Makes Bold Claim After Heated Galaxy Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has labelled his side’s 1-1 draw with TS Galaxy the “worst game of football” he’s been involved in.

Galaxy looked like they could end Sundowns’ unbeaten run after Puso Dithejane had put them ahead after 78 minutes, but Sundowns struck back via Peter Shalulile to save their unbeaten run.

After the match, Mokwena refused to be drawn into a war of words with Ramovic and focused mainly on talking about the game in his post-match reaction.

“It’s the worst game of football I’ve been involved in from a lot of aspects,” he told SuperSport TV.

“But at the same time I have to congratulate this group of players. They were unbelievable. They just refused to lose.

“So proud of the Sundowns players. Proud of the Sundowns family and everybody there. We fought very, very hard and I’m very proud of them.”

Ramovic, meanwhile, gloated over the 1-1 draw, hailing the attitude of his players, while questioning Mokwena’s coaching credentials.

The situation escalated after Ramovic was approached by Sundowns’ conditioning coach and both nearly exchanged blows, leading to a massive brawl between both camps, which had to be separated by police on the pitch.
