Munetsi – This Zim Star Can Play For Chiefs, Downs & Pirates

Zimbabwe senior men’s team captain Marshall Munetsi believes that his national teammate Walter Musona still has a shot at making it in the DStv Premiership.

The 28-year-old Musona, who is the younger brother of former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona, had a three-year stint with Limpopo-based outfit Polokwane City before joining Sekhukhune United after Rise and Shine were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in 2020.

Musona was however deemed surplus to requirements at Babina Noko when they were promoted, and returned home to join boyhood club FC Platinum. He has since left Platinum following a reported fall out with coach Norman Mapeza to join Simba Bhora.

His national team captain, and former Orlando Pirates defender Munetsi told IDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 158 that Musona can still stake his claim in the DStv Premiership, even for the ‘Big Three’.

“I think he is one of the players who, for me, obviously left Polokwane City, but I still think he has the right quality to play for Pirates, Chiefs, and Sundowns,” Munetsi told iDiski Times.

“The suspension derailed things, but hopefully, things can change because we had a good relationship with the PSL in South Africa and the Zimbabwe Premier League.”
