Ramovic Hopes To Keep Best Players After Mojela’s Downs Admission

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic says he hopes to keep his whole team together as he builds on from the last campaign to stay competitive next term.

Galaxy finished the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season in sixth position with 44 points having reached the final of the Carling Knockout Cup as well. Ramovic wanted to reach the top four and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup but it wasn’t to be.

The German mentor told the media after their final day of the season in Polokwane that it would be great to keep everyone, however if some players choose to leave it’s also good for the club because they are the ones that improved the players.

The 45-year-old coach added that it won’t be a train smash if they lost players as he will do what he did this season and rebuild again.

“We will try our best but I know it’s a very difficult task because we have top clubs in front of us and it’s not easy to compare with them when it comes to financial situations,” he told the media.

“But we are aware that this is a family and, for example ,we know that Bradley Mojela had a good offer in winter time. And then he came to me and said ‘coach, I’d like to stay because I feel that here I can improve even more’.

“This is the chance that we have but we will see and I think it will be amazing if we can hold the whole squad. It means that we can improve with the squad that we have and we will.

“But if some of the players will change and end up in other clubs, yes we will be proud of it because we did a fantastic job again, we improved the players and if top clubs are coming we will be happy for their success.

“Their success is our success but of course it will be much tougher again because then you start from scratch again like we did this season.”

Club chairman Tim Sukazi also recently admitted that there already concrete inquiries about some of his key players. Mojela, for example, has made it public knowledge that he desires to don the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns on day.
