Chiefs Legend Set For Major Role At English Club

Angus Kinnear, the CEO of English Premier League-bound side Leeds United, has announced that the club are closing in on a deal to make club legend Lucas Radebe their first official global ambassador.

The South African legend spent over a decade at the club between 1994 and 2005 and is held to high standards at the club having played 262 matches. ‘The Chief’ as Radebe is affectionately known in those parts of the world captained Leeds on 124 occasions.

Kinnear revealed on Marawa Sports Worldwide on 947 a day after the club secured promotion back to topflight football, saying the timing of the partnership couldn’t have been more perfect.

“If any he’s a bigger legend in Leeds,” said Kinnear.

“He’s come back a couple of times this year and you’ve never seen it, it’s like an absolute Rock star coming into Leeds. The fans actually still love him.

“I don’t know whether I’m breaking any secrets Chief when I say this. But I might as well tell now that we’re really delighted because we’re very close to just agreeing a deal to make Lucas an official Leeds United, our first official global ambassador.

“I’m very proud for him to take that on. He didn’t tell me he was coming on the call, so I didn’t tell him I was going to tell you this. But he’s going to be the first global ambassador and I can’t think of a better time for that to happen than now on our return.”
