DStv Premiership side AmaZulu are ready to fork out a chunk of money for Cape Town City defender Taariq Fielies.
Usuthu look to boast their squad before the end of the transfer window on Friday.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based side had a lukewarm start to the season after playing three goalless draws before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.
But things have turned around since, with Pablo Franco Martin’s side beating TS Galaxy 1-0 and Cape Town City 3-2 to climb up the table.
Despite having one of the best defences in the league, having conceded five times in six matches, Martin has decided to look for another central defender in Fielies.
The Cape Town-born centre-back has been with City in 2017 from Milano United and has made over 190 appearances.
iDiski Times understands that AmaZuluare yet to reach an agreement with Cape Town City regarding the transfer fee but the player is keen on the move.
The 31-year-old’s contract is set to expire in June 2025, but AmaZulu are running a race against time, as the transfer window will shut on Friday.
