Bimenyimana Back On The Market

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana is back on the market after leaving Al Ahli Benghazi without kicking a ball in an official match.

The Burundi international was involved in a long protracted off-season transfer saga, which saw him fly to Casablanca to sign with Wydad, have the deal called off, return to South Africa and eventually be released via mutual agreement.

At that point, the towering striker was in high demand due to his 12 goals for club and country for the season and Ahli secured him on a lucrative two-year deal.

But shortly after his arrival, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on international duty in their 3-0 loss to Cameroon in September.

iDiski Times has been informed the club opted to offer him a mutual termination and replace him with Mali striker Boubacar Traoré from US Monastir in a R24-million deal.

Bimenyimana has since returned from his injury this past week and is on the road to recovery as he looks to get his career back on track.
