Mamelodi Sundowns ladies have confirmed the signing of Banyana Banyana star player Isabella Ludwig from neighbours Pretoria University.
The 22-year-old midfielder quickly became a fan favourite during last year’s COSAFA Cup Championship for the national team with her marshalling in the middle of the park and string of passes.
She made her debut for Dr Desiree Ellis’s charges on 22 October 2024 against Namibia going on to become the Player of the Tournament, the fourth South African to do so after Janine Van Wyk in 2011, Thembi Kgatlana in 2017 and Hildah Magaia in 2020.
Banyana Ba Style announced her signing on Friday to bolster their already star-studded midfield as they chase an unprecedented 6th consecutive Hollywoodbets Super League title.
Ludwig made her debut and scored the opening goal for Sundowns on Saturday against the University of Cape Town as they ran out convincing 2-0 winners.
