Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi continues to shine in China after scoring a brace in 4-3 victory again Shanghai Port and being voted Player of the Week.
The Zhejiang FC forward finished last season as the club’s top goalscorer with 18 goals under his belt in the league, but he missed out to Brazilian Marcao won the Chinese Super League golden boot with 27 goals.
But Mushekwi has continued to bang in goals as he is sitting on 13 strikes in 21 games this season, sitting just two goals behind Chinese Super League top goalscorer Leonardo, who has scored 15 times.
This week Mushekwi was voted as Player of the Week after netting a brace in a seven-goal thriller against league leaders Shanghai Port.
The Zimbabwe striker first netted the 1-1 equaliser before half-time but saw his team go 3-1 down in the second half. However, after his team had clawed their way back into the tie and with it drawn 3-3, Mushekwi scored the much-celebrated winner in the seventh minute of injury-time.
It was Zeijang’s fifth win in the last six games, but they still sit 17 points behind the log leaders with eight games to go.
