‘I Do Not Care’ – Ramovic On Shock Yanga Exit

CR Belouizdad head coach Sead Ramovic has poured cold water over reports that his move to North Africa was motivated by money.

The former TS Galaxy mentor made a shock exit from Tanzanian giants Young Africans barely three months into the job with reports emerging that player power and money ‘pushed’ him out of the club having taken charge of just seven matches.

Reports had been rife that the German-born coach accepted Belouizdad’s offer said to be in the region of $50,000 (just over R9million) a month which saw him abruptly leave East Africa for the North.

Ramovic, 45, has however hit back at the said rumours calling it rubbish talk and that he did not care as it is talk he had anticipated.

“My move to CR Belouizdad was based on me challenging myself as a coach and wanting to better myself, it had nothing to do with money or alleged butting of heads with players,” Ramovic said on Metro FM.

“I made the decision for myself, to be in one of the best teams in Africa but I knew this kind of rubbish talk would come up about why I left Yanga but I don’t care.

“We improved in the Champions League and in the league, we won 7 games in a row and scored over 20 goals.

“There are only three teams that contend for the league in Tanzania, the other teams are just not competitive enough.

“Honestly, Young Africans is the best club in Tanzania. Young Africans is fantastic, the players are great, and the President is amazing and every team in Tanzania when they come up against Young Africans, they play a low block.”

Ramovic expressed satisfaction at his new chapter in Algeria saying it was the challenge he wanted.

“This league that I’ve chosen now, in Algeria, you play week in and week out against high quality opposition and this is what I wanted for myself as a coach,” he added.

“As a coach, you live for moments like this. The decision to leave Yanga wasn’t easy but the best opportunities never are and going to CR Belouizdad is an opportunity that I can’t turn down.

“For me, football is more than just a game. My move to CR Belouizdad is not about money, that’s the most nonsense I’ve heard.”
