Italian Coach Lopez Lands PSL Job

Italian coach Fabio Lopez has been appointed the new head coach of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies.

Lopez was linked with several clubs in the Premier Soccer League over the past two years but has now officially put pen to paper with the ambitious second-tier side.

iDiski Times has been informed the former Atalanta and Fiorentina scout has penned a one-year deal with the view of leading the team to promotion this season.

He’s been with the squad for the past month but has only now agreed personal terms before penning this official contract.

Callies have started the season with a 1-0 win over Leruma United and 1-0 defeat to the University of Pretoria – and sit 10th in the league.

Lopez holds a UEFA Pro License qualification and is also a UEFA B License instructor for the Lithuania Football Federation.
