Mabhuti Khenyeza thrashed the idea of psychologists stating that he doesn’t believe in that especially if they never played football.
After a great start of the season that saw Lamontville Golden Arrows sitting second in the league table, a big spin of the results saw them drop to seventh and concede 19 goals.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns striker who is left alone as the head coach after Vusumuzi Vilakazi left the club found himself in a difficult situation when he had to end the unwanted record of losses.
After suffering their sixth straight defeat, a question of bringing psychologists to the club was raised but Khenyeza thrashed that stating he doesn’t believe in that.
“Psychologists don’t play football, [they] just wear suits and ties, then read scripts,” Khenyeza told the media.
“I don’t believe in psychologists in football. We played football, we’ve been in these situations. I can’t bring someone who has never experienced this before or somewhere who went to school and graduated and tell him to talk about football.
“He never had an experience that is similar to this, he has never been in a field watched by 50,000 people. I don’t believe in psychologists maybe because of my background. We’ve been close to relegation in teams we played for and we overcome that.
“If you bring psychologists what will he/she talk about, they will give you quotes they will never talk about the football situations.”
