Kodisang Back To Form Ahead Of Crucial Bafana AFCON Qualifiers

South Africa youth international Kobamelo Kodisang has returned to full fitness and found the net ahead of the Bafana Bafana squad announcement.

Kodisang, 23, netted his ninth goal of the season for Liga Pro 2 leaders Moreirense to secure a 1-0 win over Trofense.

It marked his first since November after suffering a knee injury and upon his return, he was eased back into the starting eleven.

But with three straight starts leading up to his Man of the Match display on Saturday – the winger is once again putting his name forward for the senior national team.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos acknowledged his impressive form before his injury struck and stated if he maintained his level of performance, he would be considered for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia.

“We have an eye on Kodisang and when he goes on like this, he certainly will be there in March,” he said at the time when asked by iDiski Times.

However, it remains to be seen if Broos opts to blood in new talent for the two crucial qualifiers that could secure a place at Ivory Coast 2023.
