Konqobe – Our Aim Is Top Eight Finish

Chippa United midfielder Ayabulela Konqobe has emphasised that a top eight finish is what they aim for.

Chilli Boys are skating on thin ice after failing only winning only one game in the last 10 games. The Eastern Cape-based recently parted ways with Morgan Mammila after spending six months in the club.

Konqobe explained that relegation is not what they thinking of instead they think of qualifying for MTN8. Chippa United have only two games at home this season they will be pushing for the third one when they face AmaZulu.

“It’s very difficult to experience two losses, especially at home, it’s been very difficult especially also coming from these wins and draws the momentum has been going well but you know everyone here is a professional and everyone knows what their job is,” Konqobe told the club’s media department.

“The mood is still the same and everyone is still hungry to win, everyone is still ego to go out there and play. The goal is still the same we still fighting for the top eight and we are still united. We will keep doing our best and see what we can do.

“We’ve been working a lot into attacking also our defending, also on transition. It’s been a lot but I can say we well prepared for AmaZulu side especially since it’s another home game. We will be pushing to make out fans proud, to make our chairman proud so I can say we are up for the task.

“It’s very important, I think getting three points in this game will determine how our journey going forward will be if we can get into the top eight or not.

“I think it’s also gonna be very important for us so that we sitting in a better stable place in the log and everyday point because you know every point that you make will be very critical at the end of the season.”
