Mothiba Injury Update

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has given an update on striker Lebo Mothiba after he seemed to have pulled a muscle.

Sundowns suffered their first defeat in the FIFA Club World Cup at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in a seven-goal thriller having scored first through Lucas Ribeiro before Dortmund scored four goals to make it 4-1 and eventually win the match 4-3.

All seemed to have been lost up until Sundowns pulled on back through Iqraam Rayners before Cardoso made three changes which influenced the game in a positive way and saw Sundowns scoring the third one via Mothiba.

Downs nearly scored an equalizer when Jaydan Adams played an aerial ball to Mothiba, but the Bafana Bafana striker pulled a muscle while chasing the ball.

Cardoso briefly explained the main injury stating that it is not a knee injury which has been troubling the Bafana forward.

“Regarding Lebo, I don’t know for sure. He will have to make an examine and check if he has a muscle injury that’s what we need to check,” Cardoso told the media.

“There’s nothing on the knee.”
