Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Cassius Mailula’s two trophies since his return to the club has seen him dedicate their latest triumph to the late Jayden Adams.
Mailula, 25, made a sensational return to Chloorkop on a permanent switch after an unsuccessful stint with Major League Soccer outfit Toronto FC having joined them form the African champions in July 2023.
Since making a comeback to his boyhood club, Mailula has racked up four goals in 11 appearances in 2026/27 across all competitions.
Speaking after their MTN8 final win having beaten defending champions Orlando Pirates 2-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, Mailula expressed gratitude at his return to the club as well as the win as a group was dedicated to the late Adams.
“I’m very proud of myself also for making the decision to come back to Sundowns,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“You can see already that I’ve got two trophies, so I’m happy.
“It shows that we worked hard together as a team. The mentality is right, you can see everyone wants it, everyone is contributing whenever given a chance.
“So, I think it’s very good for us to keep the momentum, for us to be very humble.
“To always remember we’re doing this for our brother Jayden [Adams].”
