Luke Fleurs has been spotted at Kaizer Chiefs, with the club understood to be assessing the centre-back.
Fleurs, 23, was a target of Chiefs in January but Stan Matthews and SuperSport United remained firm in their stance of not selling him after he became a regular over the last three seasons.
He eventually committed to a new contract with the Tshwane-based oufit but things have now changed, with the arrival of Siyanda Xulu and the emergence of Ime Okon.
With Fleurs yet to feature under Gavin Hunt this season, both parties agreed to part ways, as reported by SABC Sport.
The defender has now appeared at Naturena, with Chiefs releasing an image of Fleurs (number 28) in training.
Whether Chiefs will announce his signing before the transfer deadline on Friday remains to be seen, as they currently prepare for their DStv Premiership clash against Fleurs’ former side on Wednesday as well as their MTN8 semi-final second leg against Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, with the player being a free agent, he could still be signed by Amakhosi after Friday’s deadline. Even in case he won’t end up at Naturena, he is said to be not short of options.
Fleurs had racked up 70 appearances for the Matsatsantsa, scoring twice, since joining the club from Ubuntu FC in July 2018.
