Mamelodi Sundowns defender Lyle Lakay has joined Cape Town City on a one-year loan.
The reigning Defender of the Season somewhat surprisingly fell down the pecking order at Masandawana and only started one of the club’s nine DStv Premiership games this season so far.
Players such as Aubrey Modiba and Sifiso Ngobeni had seemingly overtaken Lakay in the pecking order and with the arrival of Terrence Mashego from Cape Town City his game-time became even more under threat.
Today, Lakay completed a loan move to City to fill the gap left by Mashego, as reported by iDiski Times earlier in the week and now confirmed by the club.
