Peprah – Pirates Ready To Mount League Challenge

While disappointed to not be playing in continental football this season, Kwame Peprah feels it could help Orlando Pirates mount a league challenge this season.

The Ghanaian striker had a good debut season for the Soweto giants in 2021/2022, scoring nine goals in all competitions and helping Pirates reach the CAF Confederation Cup final.

While it was RS Berkane who would eventually win the final in shootout, and disappointingly for Pirates they failed to qualify for continental football for the 2022/2023 campaign after missing out on a top three place in the DStv Premiership.

Speaking in an interview with Lorenz Köhler in the latest edition of iDiski Times, Peprah said they played some good football in the CAFCC, and while disappointed to miss out, he feels the less congested calendar may help Pirates mount a league challenge.

“Obviously, we did well in that tournament and we enjoyed the run,” Peprah told iDiski Times.

“We probably played some of our best football too, maybe with more freedom than in the PSL.

“But on the plus side, we can focus on mounting a challenge in the league next season.”
