Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi has remained coy on rumours that coach John Maduka has resigned, while president Shauwn ‘Mam’Mkhize stated she was not aware of the coach’s reported departure.
Earlier on Monday, Kick Off reported that Maduka has handed in his resignation and is in line to take over Maritzburg United.
Maduka had lead ‘Thwihli Thwahla’ into a respectable third-place in the DStv Premiership after they bought the status of Bloemfontein Celtic just a few days ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
His fine exploits have seen him being shortlisted for the Coach of the Season award, where he ultimately missed out to Mamelodi Sundowns duo Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mnqgqithi.
As a consequence, his reported departed from Royal AM comes as a shock to many, with Mnisi unwilling to confirm the news when contacted by iDiski Times.
“Just ask John about that, just wait until you get hold of him, I think it would be proper until you get word from John,” he said to this website.
Meanwhile, club president MamMkhize only recently returned from her trip overseas and hadn’t heard of the latest developments around her club.
“Miss Mkhize has been out of the country and away on leisure and business. She unfortunately is still suffering from jet lag and is getting some well deserved rest. She is not aware of any of the speculated news with regards to John Maduka,” her team said in a comment to iDiski Times.
Maduka himself was not available for comment, despite multiple attempts to call him.
