Mamelodi Sundowns defender Divine Lunga says the club is confident and relishing the underdog tag ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund.
Sundowns come into the Group F game as leaders, and as the only African team to win, or score a goal in the global event thus far after the 1-0 victory over Ulsan HD.

Iqraam Rayners netted the goal, while Lunga, in particular, produced a solid defensive display as a surprise inclusion ahead of Aubrey Modiba as the preferred left back on the night.
“We’re happy about the win, we gave it our all, we fought to get that win,” Lunga said. “Ulsan, it’s what we expected because we analysed the games they played before they came this side, we expected what they did yesterday, we analysed them well.
“When they made the changes of their structure, it was surprising, but it still went well on our side.”
Sundowns will now travel to Ohio today, to get to grips with the different conditions, which is about 1500kms away from their base IMG Academy, and a two-and-a-half-hour flight for the squad before the MD-1 training on Friday and matchday on Saturday.
“We are travelling on Thursday [to Cincinnati] for Dortmund, it’s a good thing so we can get used to some of the things there. We don’t know much about the city. Everyone knows what Dortmund is capable of, they are not a small team, they are big guns,” he added.
“We might be the underdogs, but I think where we come from, people know who Mamelodi Sundowns are – they know what’s going on when you meet Sundowns.
“But even Dortmund… I read this interview of their coach talking about us, so I think it will be a tough game, it won’t be an easy one.”
Sundowns and the Bundesliga giants meet at TQL Stadium on Saturday at 18h00.
