Mbappe WC Final HT Speech Revealed

Kylian Mbappe’s rousing half-time speech that inspired a great comeback by France in Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final has been revealed.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward, who turned 24 on Tuesday, became only the second men’s player in football history to score a hat-trick in the World Cup final after England’s Geoff Hurst in 1966.

Mbappe was the standout performer in a Les Bleus team that looked flat for large parts of the World Cup final, with Argentina taking a 2-0 half-time lead.

At the break, Mbappe himself rallied his teammates at half-time in a speech that was now made public

“It’s the World Cup, guys. it’s the match of a lifetime,” he shouts in TV footage released by TF1, as per The Athletic.

“Whatever happens, we can’t do any worse than what we did [in the first half].

“We’re going back out there on to the pitch: either we let them play us like idiots, or we put a bit of intensity into the game, get into the one on ones and change things, guys.

“It’s a World Cup final. We are two goals down. We can come back! Oh guys, something like this only comes round once every four years.”

Mbappe and his teammates managed to draw level thanks to two quick fire goals in the 80th and 81st minute. They even pulled one back again in injury-time after Lionel Messi had given his side the 3-2 lead.

However, in the end, Mbappe and Co. lost to the 2022 World Cup champions on penalties.

On Wednesday, less than three days after the final whistle, Mbappe was already pictured back in Paris Saint-Germain training.
