In this week’s edition, we bring you interviews with two young defenders who are hot property and possibly the future of Bafana Bafana – Olwethu Makhanya and Rushwin Dortley! Lethabo Kganyago spoke to Philadelphia Union-bound Makhanya, the breakout star from Stellenbosch FC, who chose the MLS over Mamelodi Sundowns (pages 8-10), while Rob Delport caught up with Dortley, the much-wanted Cape Town Spurs’ left-footed defender (pages 11-13). Rob also caught up with one of South Africa’s best performers abroad currently, Tashreeq Matthews (pages 14-15), who is in prolific form for Sirius in Sweden . Meanwhile, Lethabo spoke to Bafana Bafana bio kineticist Simone Conley (pages 16-19), who is set to join the Al-Ittihad Ladies team in Saudi Arabia after the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Austin Dube tells us why his time at Kaizer Chiefs wasn’t a failure (page 7) and we also have the latest transfer rumours on Eric Mathoho (page 4), while a Chippa United source told us their twitter search for a left-back was a “massive success” (page 6).
