Al Ahly President To Hold Talks With Mosimane?

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib will reportedly hold talks with coach Pitso Mosimane to warn him about expectations at the club.

Khatib was not very pleased with his side’s defeat in the Egyptian Super Cup against Tala’ea El-Gaish on penalties and reportedly fined the coaches, players and the Director of football EGP 300 000 (R281 529).

However, Khatib’s action won’t just stop with the fines, he will now also address Mosimane as well as several players in one-on-one talks, according to Filgoal.

The Egyptian website cites a source from within the club, who confirmed that Khatib will meet with the South African coach.

“Al-Khatib will hold an account and reproach session with Pitso Mosimane, the team’s coach, because of the level of the team, not just the results, and the loss of the local league and super cup,” the source said.

“There will be talk about the lack of performance development, the repetition of errors, the failure to apply the rotation policy and the failure to give fair opportunities to all players, despite the club’s management providing excellent deals and support.”

Khatib will reportedly also talk with several players to address their attitude after the club missed out on the league and Super Cup titles.

“There will also be warning sessions for a group of players against recklessness and inaction, and the talk will be that there is no place in Al-Ahly for any player whose ambitions stopped at a certain point, or who thinks himself more important than the team.”

Al Ahly will return to action on Saturday when they will face ENPPI in the last 16 of the Egyptian Cup.
