Pitso Follows Mourinho
Pitso Mosimane has followed the example of Jose Mourinho, handing his silver medal from the Egyptian Super Cup to a young fan.
The South African tactician couldn’t prevent his side from losing the Egyptian Super Cup to Tala’ea El-Gaish on Tuesday after his side missed three penalties in the shootout.
The game had ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, leaving many of Al Ahly’s fans disappointed but Mosimane made one young supporter very happy.
According to Kingfut, Mosimane handed his silver medal to a young fan after the award ceremony. In doing so, Mosimane followed the example of Mourinho, who also gave away three of his medals during his coaching career.
The Portuguese coach gave away his silver medal after the 2015 FA Community Shield after a defeat with Chelsea to Arsenal and also the medal he received after the 2017 UEFA Super Cup when his Manchester United side lost 2-1 to Real Madrid.
‘Jingles’, meanwhile, missed out on lifting his fifth trophy with the Egyptian giants after securing two CAF Champions League titles, one CAF Super Cup and the Egyptian Cup during his first 11 months at the club.
In addition, he also guided Al Ahly to a third place at the FIFA Club World Cup and received a medal for the Egyptian Premier League. But the latter title had already been secured by his predecessor Rene Weiler.
Al Ahly continue their domestic campaign with a cup last 16 tie against ENPPI on Saturday.
