Egypt Coach Hails Pitso
Egypt national team head coach Hossam El-Badry has praised Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane, saying he must be rated on his success and not where he comes from.
The South African tactician had been heavily criticised by a section of former Al Ahly players and journalists for his style of play.
However, with the team keeping on winning, those critics have gone silent over recent weeks. Badry has now echoed the latest wave of support for ‘Jingles’ who has lead Al Ahly into back-to-back CAF Champions League finals.
“We are all African coaches, so let’s not differentiate,” he told Youm7, as per Kingfut.
“Mosimane succeeded in achieving what was required of him and won all the tournaments that he led the Reds in since joining them.
“We must rate him on the most important thing which is winning, let’s not focus on where he comes from.”
Mosimane has won three titles since joining Al Ahly, namely the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup and the Egyptian Cup. He also picked up an Egyptian Premier League medal even though the competition was already secured by his predecessor Rene Weiler when Mosimane joined.
Al Ahly are still in for all trophies this campaign and will return to domestic football on Thursday evening, when they face Pyramids in the league.
